A number of Championship clubs are queuing up to sign Jacob Ramsey on loan from Aston Villa during the January transfer window, according to The Birmingham Mail.
John Terry has shared a dressing room with some of the finest footballers of the modern era so it’s safe to assume the Villa coach knows a talented youngster when he sees one.
And, in the eyes of a former England and Chelsea captain, it is only a matter of time before Ramsey is strutting his stuff alongside homegrown hero Jack Grealish in Dean Smith’s midfield.
“All supporters want to see home-grown players come through. We’re lucky to have (Ramsey). We have an excellent youth team and have got players like JJ pushing the first team,” Terry told the Birmingham Mail back in September.
Terry’s gushing praise came after Ramsey sparkled in a 3-0 EFL Cup victory over Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
But, even with Ross Barkley on the sidelines, Premier League minutes have proved much harder to come by with the Great Barr-born teenager making just one brief cameo in the top-flight this season.

Aston Villa will have a decision to make, then, with clubs from the division below taking a keen interest.
A loan spell in the Championship would, in theory, offer Ramsey an opportunity he would not get at Villa – regular, first-team football, week-in, week-out.
The report does name any of the interested parties but there are no shortage of clubs in the second-tier who would benefit from Ramsey’s incisive movement and impressive strike-rate from midfield.
