Fulham could lose Scott Parker if they lose tonight’s Championship play-off final against Brentford, with the Sun (4 August, page 51) suggesting that Bournemouth will come calling.

At the age of just 39, one of the youngest head coaches in British football is just 90 minutes away from sealing promotion to the Premier League in the first full season of his managerial career.

As you might expect, such an impressive campaign in West London has not gone unnoticed with Bournemouth mulling over whether or not to raid a club who could take their place in the top flight.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe walked away over the weekend after a five-year stay in the first division ended in the most heartbreaking of relegations, although Bournemouth are not waiting around as they scour the market for a replacement.

It seems the South Coast club are prioritising another young, hungry coach with a pair of 39-year-olds in their sights.

The Sun reports that Bournemouth will make an enquiry about Parker if Brentford’s ‘BMW’ front line steamroller a less than watertight Fulham back line at Wembley this evening.

The former England international has an excellent relationship with Richard Hughes, Bournemouth’s technical director.

And if Parker is not willing to turn his back on a Fulham side who handed him the reigns last year after Claudio Ranieri’s ill-fated spell in charge, Bournemouth will turn their attention to Aston Villa assistant John Terry.

According to Villa boss Dean Smith, however, Terry is not going anywhere just yet.

“I have spoken to John and he is fully committed to our cause here at Aston Villa,” Smith told Sky last month.
