Turkish side Fenerbache could launch a double raid on Sunderland and West Ham United which could see the clubs offload two flops.
According to Turkish football outlet Fotomac, the Istanbul giants have set their sights on signing Hammers flop Sofiane Feghouli and Sunderland midfielder Wahbi Khazri in an ambitious double deal.
The report states that the Yellow Canaries have been monitoring the situation of Algerian Feghouli after they missed out to Slaven Bilic’s Hammers in the race to sign him from Valencia on a free transfer last summer.
West Ham’s Sofiane Feghouli in action
Feghouli has struggled to cement a place in Bilic’s first team despite a torrid season and he has failed to impress when given a chance.
According to the report, West Ham are open to selling Feghouli but could ask for as much as £10 million which could see the clubs come to an agreement over an initial loan deal instead.
The 27-year-old has made just nine Premier League appearances for the East Londoners and was sent off in his latest match against Manchester United, a decision which has since been overturned by the FA.
Feghouli could be joined in Turkey by another Premier League midfield flop in the shape of Khazri who has made just 11 appearances this season with no goals and just one assist having been signed by Sam Allardyce for a whopping £9m last season.
Sunderland’s Wahbi Khazri
According to Fotomac reports Fener will take Khazri on loan for the rest of this season and the entirety of next bringing an end to the Tunisian international’s ill-fated move to England.
Feghouli’s move will not be complicated by the African Nations after he was left out by Algeria due to his lack of match action this season.
Khazri however has been called up by Tunisia but Sunderland’s relationship with Fenerbache – who took Jeremain Lens from the Black Cats in a similar deal – could help in that respect.
Neither player would be missed by their respective clubs although Sunderland have more to lose having splashed out such a large fee for Khazri.
Ironically Feghouli had his best 10 minutes in a West Ham shirt against Manchester United before his untimely sending off.
