Cenk Tosun hasn’t played a second of Premier League football under Marco Silva this season with his only outing coming in the Carabao Cup.

Cenk Tosun of Everton FC looks on during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Everton FC at Selhurst Park on August 10, 2019 in London, United Kingdom.

Cenk Tosun rejected a move to Turkish champions Galatasaray on the final day of the summer transfer window despite falling out of favour at Everton, as reported by HaberTurk.

Less than two years after he arrived at Goodison Park from Besiktas in a £27 million deal (Sky Sports), Tosun finds himself well down the pecking order.

The 28-year-old has looked a shadow of the striker who fired Besiktas to successive Super Lig titles on Merseyside and his only action in the opening weeks of 2019/20 came against Lincoln City at Sincil Bank in the Carabao Cup second round.

But despite playing just 16 minutes in all competitions, Tosun was not ready to walk away from Everton just yet.

HaberTurk claims that the one-time Frankfurt ace sat down with Galatasaray’s officials to discuss a potential return to Istanbul but decided to stay and fight for his place under Marco Silva instead.

Considering that Tosun is now behind Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Moise Kean in the pecking order, this is a decision he might come to regret.

Galatasaray won’t be too disappointed, however, after sealing deals for Brighton hothead Florin Andone and Colombian legend Radamel Falcao before the window slammed shut.
