Sunderland are reportedly keen on Celtic’s Jack Hendry.

According to the Daily Mail, Celtic defender Jack Hendry is wanted by Sunderland in a January loan deal, and the Bhoys are prepared to let him go.
Celtic snapped up Hendry a year ago, raiding Dundee with a £1.5million deal after he had impressed following a move from Wigan Athletic.
Compared to John Stones, Hendry was signed as a star of the future, but has 24 appearances for Celtic so far under Brendan Rodgers.
Hendry hasn’t featured at all since the 28th of October though, and has become something of a forgotten man behind Filip Benkovic, Dedryck Boyata, Kristoffer Ajer and even Jozo Simunovic.
Now, the Daily Mail report that Celtic are ready to loan the 23-year-old out for the rest of the season, and Sunderland are on one of the top suitors.
Manager Jack Ross knows Scottish football inside out, and may look to add Hendry to the likes of Jack Baldwin, Tom Flanagan and Glenn Loovens in a bid to aid Sunderland’s promotion bid.

Fellow League One sides Portsmouth and Bradford City are also thought to be keen though, meaning Celtic may have a number of loan offers for Hendry coming in this month.
A loan spell with regular football in a tough, physical league may be just what Hendry needs in order to develop, and ultimately come back to Celtic a better player this summer.
