According to the Glasgow Evening Times, Celtic won’t be able to sign Liverpool winger Harry Wilson before today’s deadline.
It’s claimed that Celtic made an approach to try and sign Wilson earlier today, with Neil Lennon keen on a loan deal.
However, it’s claimed that Liverpool only want to sell Wilson, and won’t agree to another loan deal having sent him out a number of times in recent years.
Hull City, Derby County and Bournemouth have all taken Wilson on loan in the last two-and-a-half years, and Liverpool are now ready to sell.
Liverpool want around £15million for Wilson, and Celtic can’t afford to pay that – or meet his wages either.
That means a deal for Celtic to sign the Welshman before tonight’s deadline looks almost impossible, despite their interest.

The 23-year-old looks set to remain at Liverpool beyond the end of the transfer window, and it’s unclear what his future holds.
He doesn’t appear to be near Liverpool’s starting XI or even the bench given that Takumi Minamino and Diogo Jota both offer greater versatility, meaning Wilson could be sat on the sidelines for the next three months.
