Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna.

Scott McKenna of Scotland speaks at a press conference prior to the UEFA Nations League match between Scotland and Israel at Hampden Park on November 19, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Celtic will revive their interest in Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic wanted to sign McKenna in the summer transfer window, but Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen refused to sell them.

The Daily Mail has claimed that the Glasgow giants are expected to move for the Scotland international defender in January.

Promising talent

McKenna is one of the best defenders in the Scottish Premiership, and the 22-year-old can only get better in the coming years.

Celtic could do with another defender in their team, especially someone who will be at the club long-term, as Filip Benkovic is only on loan from Premier League side Leicester City.

Competition

Celtic could find it hard to persuade McKenna to move to Celtic Park in the January transfer window due to English clubs’ reported interest.
