Celtic have not replaced Moussa Dembele, who left for Lyon in the summer transfer window.

Celtic FC Manager Brendan Rodgers makes his appearance to the Ladbrokes Premiership match between Livingston and Celtic at Tony Macaroni Arena on November 11, 2018 in Livingston, Scotland.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers wants to sign a striker in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that Celtic boss Rodgers is in the market for a striker, and the former Liverpool manager is also claimed to be looking for a right-back and is expected to make a move for Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna in January.

Moussa Dembele’s replacement?

Celtic are short of an established striker in their squad due to the departure of Moussa Dembele in the summer transfer window.

The French striker joined Lyon from the Hoops late in the window for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £19.7 million.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers looks on during the UEFA Europa League Group B match between Celtic and RB Leipzig at Celtic Park on November 8, 2018 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

The 22-year-old was arguably the best striker at Celtic at the time, and the Glasgow giants did not have time to replace him in the summer transfer window.

Rodgers’s reported plan to sign a striker in the January transfer window suggests that the Celtic boss is planning to find a replacement for Dembele.

It remains to be seen if the Bhoys will find someone as good and prolific as the Frenchman in the middle of the season.
