Celtic are looking to replace scout John Park, with two targets allegedly in their sights.

According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are eyeing Huddersfield Town’s Stuart Webber and Southampton’s Ross Wilson for their vacant role of chief scout.
The Bhoys saw long-serving John Park leave the club last week after nearly ten years with the club, and given that he helped bring now-Premier League stars Victor Wanyama and Virgil van Dijk to Celtic, his departure is a major blow.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers predominantly signed players he had worked with previously during the summer transfer window, landing Dorus De Vries and Scott Sinclair having managed them both at Swansea, whilst he also worked with Kolo Toure at Liverpool.
Cristian Gamboa and Moussa Dembele also arrived, but Rodgers won’t be able to only bring in players he has worked with previously, and Celtic will now be on the lookout for a new chief scout to replace Park.

The Daily Mail report that Huddersfield Town’s head of football operations Stuart Webber is one target, after the Terriers made a blistering start to the season.
Webber, a former Liverpool academy scout, is just 32 but has been gaining a real reputation for himself since leaving Wolves for Huddersfield to replace Ross Wilson.

The report adds that Wilson, currently the head of recruitment at Southampton, is also on Celtic’s wish list having overseen some of the best player recruitment in the Premier League on a yearly basis.
However, it’s claimed that Scotland-born Wilson has turned Celtic down once, and it’s unclear whether he’d be willing to swap Southampton for the Bhoys as Celtic look to swiftly appoint a replacement for Park.
