Celtic are interested in signing Brenden Aaronson from Philadelphia Union in the summer transfer window, according to MLSSoccer.com.

It has been reported that an unnamed Belgian club are also interested in the 19-year-old, who is described as ‘a modern midfielder’ in the report.

The report has also quoted Union head coach Jim Curtin as recently saying that the teenager has “taken big strides”, and spoke highly of “his work rate and ability to run and cover ground and cover distance”.

Good signing for Celtic?

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is a very dynamic player who scores goals and creates chances.

The youngster has flourished playing in Union’s high-pressing system, and given his talent and huge potential, it is safe to say that he is going to progress and develop in the coming years.

A move to Celtic could be very tempting for the young American, but it must be made sure that the teenager is not put under any undue pressure.

What Aaronson needs right now is space and patience to grow and develop at his own pace.

Celtic will be aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th season in a row in 2020-21.
