Swedish site Fotboll Direkt claim Celtic are considering a move for AIK left-back Erick Otieno this summer. The Kenya international has been a regular for the Swedish side of late, surpassing 50 appearances for AIK this season.
Otieno, 25, has impressed in Swedish football – making the left-back slot his own. The Swedish league is currently in the first half of proceedings, with only 11 games played. Celtic are keen on Otieno, though a fee is unclear.

The defender has been linked with moves to the Premier League in the past. Last summer, reports claimed that both Manchester City and Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City had sent scouts to watch the African flyer for AIK.
He remains in Sweden, with two and a half years left on his current deal. But now, Celtic are ready to take him to Parkhead and finally end their hunt for a left-back to replace Kieran Tierney – who joined Arsenal in 2019.
Celtic considering AIK left-back Otieno: Harsh on Taylor?
Greg Taylor has been rock-solid for Celtic this season. Clocking up 35 games for Celtic, his best form came towards the end of the season after a lengthy spell halfway through the campaign injured. He has been excellent.
But ultimately, he is not the long-term answer. He will be happy supplying cover at left-back, with a huge amount of games to play once again this season. Is Otieno a better option? It is hard to tell.
He has played less than 100 senior games at club level, and the highest level he has done so is in Sweden. However, 34 caps for Kenya is promising. Celtic need to improve on Taylor and he is a good signing, if he does that.
