Celtic want Falkirk teenager Tony Gallacher – but face competition from Barcelona, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester City among others.

According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are ready to battle for the signature of Falkirk left back Tony Gallacher – but the Scottish Championship side want a huge £750,000 for the player.

Gallacher, 17, joined Falkirk in 2015 and remarkably made his first-team debut at the age of just 16, and has been featuring more regularly for Peter Houston’s side this season.

The left back has made seven appearances this season, and his displays appear to have attracted major interest ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.

The Daily Mail report that Celtic are particularly keen to sign the Falkirk ace, with the Bhoys always looking to snap up the most promising Scottish youngsters – as seen with moves for the likes of Ryan Christie and PJ Crossan in recent times.

Interest in Gallacher is particularly interesting given that Celtic’s current left back, Kieran Tierney, is attracting Premier League interest, and with Tierney likely to make a move to England at some stage, Gallacher could emerge as a possible replacement.

Celtic would be the biggest move Gallacher could make if he wanted to stay in Scotland, but it remains to be seen whether they’re willing to pay Falkirk’s £750,000 asking price before next Tuesday’s transfer deadline – especially given that he’s just 17.

Even if Celtic don’t make a move for Gallacher, he still could be on his way out of Falkirk. The report claims that Barcelona, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all interested in landing Gallacher, meaning Celtic face a huge fight to land the defender.

It’s stated that Liverpool and Manchester City actually scouted him last week ahead of a possible move, and with Barcelona also monitoring him, Gallacher looks destined for a huge future – and if a team is willing to pay £750,000, they could land him this month.
