Celtic look likely to be priced out of a deal for Timothy Castagne.

According to The Scottish Sun, Atalanta have told Celtic to pay up £10million to sign right back Timothy Castagne, meaning a deal is hugely unlikely.
The Bhoys are certainly in the market for another right back, given that Mikael Lustig and Cristian Gamboa are both out of contract this summer.
It currently looks like both players will move on, meaning Celtic need to find at least one right back – but Brendan Rodgers’ top target looks to be slipping away from the Bhoys.
Over the last week or so, Celtic have been heavily linked with a move to sign Atalanta’s Castagne, with Rodgers keen to lure the Belgian international to Scotland.
However, it’s now claimed that Celtic would have to pay £10million for Castagne, and as that’s a club-record amount for Celtic, a deal looks unlikely.

The 23-year-old has made 10 Serie A appearances this season, but with Hans Hateboer the chief right back at Atalanta, Celtic were keen to try and sign Castagne.
Now though, with a huge fee for Celtic needed to strike a deal, it seems that Rodgers will have to go back to the drawing board and find another right back.
