Celtic could face missing out on Ivan Toney as they are unlikely to match Peterborough United’s £10 million valuation, the Peterborough Evening Telegraph report.

Celtic are believed to be very keen on the striker, and have already had one bid knocked back.

However, the Bhoys are apparently unlikely to nudge their offer up enough to convince Posh to accept.

The League One side want £10 million for their star striker, which would smash their record sale.

Celtic are keen to take him, but not at the price Posh are demanding.

That could allow the rest of the clutch of clubs chasing Toney to gain an advantage.

The 24-year-old is very much in demand after scoring 26 goals in League One last term, with plenty of Championship clubs also eager to sign the clinical finisher.

If Celtic were to sign Toney he could be a seriously exciting addition to Neil Lennon’s squad, but it seems that the Bhoys could be forced to look elsewhere, unless Peterborough decide to drop their asking price in the coming weeks.
