Celtic are reported to still be interested in Anthony Castagne.

Celtic failed in a late bid for Atalanta full-back Anthony Castagne, Calciomercato reported yesterday.

The Belgium international scored last night for Atalanta in a Coppa Italia clash against Juventus.

Interest is building in Castagne and Tuttomercatoweb report Atalanta have also rejected a late approach from Fiorentina.

The report states Atalanta are determined to hang onto him and have decided to keep him until the summer.

This at least gives Celtic some optimism that Castagne could be up for sale in the summer, but they will clearly face hefty competition.

Right-back has been a clear issue for Celtic since the start of the transfer window, with competition needed for veteran Mikael Lustig.

One player Celtic could sign is Borussia Dortmund talent Jeremy Toljan, with Fussball Transfers reporting yesterday that talks are ongoing over a loan deal.
