Celtic will not make a decision on signing Airdrie forward Thomas Robert until there is a new manager and a new director of football in place at the Scottish Premiership giants, as reported by the Daily Record.
With Aberdeen, Dundee United and (god forbid) Rangers watching closely, could the ongoing uncertainty at Parkhead cost Celtic the chance to sign one of the country’s hottest prospects?
Robert has spent time on trial at the Glasgow giants recently.
And, speaking to the Record, Airdrie boss Ian Murray admitted that he would not stand in the 20-year-old’s way if Celtic decide to offer him a contract when the summer transfer window swings open.
For now, however, that will have to wait.
Celtic’s are prioritising a new manager and a new director of football, with reports claiming that any potential transfer deals – including one that would see Robert swap the third-tier for a bona fide British powerhouse – have been placed on the backburner.

Given that Celtic look no closer to finding Neil Lennon’s replacement, with links to the likes of Frank Lampard, Eddie Howe and Jesse Marsch pure speculation at this stage, Robert faces an anxious wait.
The former Montpellier youngster, the son of ex-Newcastle hero Laurent Robert, has also been watched by Rangers, according to the Record.
With Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos potentially on their way out of Ibrox, could Steven Gerrard’s newly-crowned champions pip their Old Firm rivals to Robert’s signature?
The door is most certainly ajar…
