According to the Watford Observer, Watford teenager Bosun Lawal is set to leave the club and sign for Celtic this week.

The Bhoys are chasing signings for Ange Postecoglou’s first team, but they are also looking towards the future with Under-23 additions too.

Midfielder Lawal has been offered a new contract by Watford, but is now set to snub the Hornets and head to Celtic instead.

Lawal won Watford’s Academy Player of the Season award last season, so it’s no shock that the Hornets were desperate to keep hold of him.

Unfortunately for Watford, the 18-year-old has decided to move on and will join Celtic this week, with the compensation set at around £150,000.

A medical will take place within a matter of days, with Lawal’s move to Glasgow seemingly on the verge of completion.

Watford hero Troy Deeney has raved about the Irish youngster, comparing him to former Hornets midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure whilst predicting a great career for him.

Doucoure ended up joining Everton for around £25million last summer, so if Celtic can sign a player with that kind of potential for just £150,000, it could be a bargain.
