Celtic are prepared to meet the financial demands of VVV-Venlo striker Giorgios Giakoumakis – but he may still prefer a move to Germany instead.
That’s according to Sportime in Greece, who claim that Celtic have no problems meeting the wage demands Giakoumakis is seeking.
Werder Bremen are desperate to sign Giakoumakis, but they so far haven’t been able to make him an offer he’s happy with.
The report does note that, even though Celtic have the better financial offer, Giakoumakis prefers Germany as his next destination.
That leaves him with a big decision; take less money to make the move to Germany, or earn more money by heading to Scotland.
Giakoumakis hit 26 Eredivisie goals last season, starring for VVV-Venlo having previously had a spell in Poland with Gornik Zabrze.

The striker would allegedly cost just £2.5million, with the Daily Record claiming that Ange Postecoglou has already spoken to Giakoumakis about joining Celtic.
Celtic would surely hope to beat a second division German side to a signing, but they must now wait for Giakoumakis to make his decision.
