Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic have been linked with Trevor Carson of Motherwell in the January transfer window.

It has been reported that Brendan Rodgers’s side made a bid of £200,000 for the 29-year-old goalkeeper.
Motherwell, though, have rejected Celtic’s offer for the former Sunderland prospect, according to The Daily Record.

The report has also claimed that Motherwell are unwilling to sell Carson so late in the January transfer window due to lack of time to sign a replacement.
The Daily Record has also reported that Celtic are expected to go back with a second offer for Carson tomorrow.
Celtic’s (reported) interest in Carson should not come as a surprise to anyone. After all, manager Brendan Rodgers spoke highly of the Motherwell only a few weeks ago.

Back in November 2017, following Celtic’s 1-1 draw with Motherwell away from home, Rodgers told Herald Scotland: “You have to get massive credit to the Motherwell keeper.
“I knew Trevor as a young guy and he was outstanding. Then I lost track of him a bit but he made some great saves.”
Celtic are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and the chance to play for the Hoops and work with Rodgers could be too tempting for Carson, and that could change Motherwell’s current stance.
