Celtic are reportedly looking to sign Manchester City’s Douglas Luiz.

According to The Herald, Celtic are considering taking Manchester City midfielder Douglas Luiz on loan before Friday’s transfer deadline.
The Bhoys beat Hamilton Academical 1-0 on Sunday afternoon and will be hoping for a positive end to the week after a fairly disappointing transfer window to date.
After tying up loanees Scott Bain and Odsonne Edouard permanently, Celtic have moved to bring in Emilio Izaguirre and Daniel Arzani, though Brendan Rodgers is desperate for more additions before the transfer window slams shut on Friday.
Intriguingly though, Celtic may go back to Manchester City for another signing after taking Arzani on loan, with The Herald reporting that the Bhoys are considering a deal for midfielder Douglas Luiz.
Luiz, 20, was signed for £12million from Vasco Da Gama in his native Brazil last summer, but was sent straight out on loan to sister club Girona last summer in a bid to improve his chances of landing a work permit to play in England; a strategy which so far hasn’t worked.
Luiz’s work permit application was rejected this month, meaning City need to loan him out again – and Celtic are hoping to use their connections with City to bring him to Glasgow.

In recent years, City have landed Jason Denayer, John Guidetti, Dedryck Boyata, Patrick Roberts, Olivier Ntcham and now Arzani from City, with Luiz now the latest target.
With work permits slightly easier to come by in Scotland than England, Luiz could be the latest to make the move, though Benfica are also though to be keen on a midfielder City boss Pep Guardiola claimed ‘has the quality’ to play for City now, and it’s only his work permit situation preventing him from doing so.
