Celtic may target a last-gasp deal for Victor Wanyama.

According to the Daily Record, Celtic are hoping to take Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama on loan on before tonight’s transfer deadline.
The Bhoys beat Rangers 2-0 on Sunday, and are enjoying a late flurry of activity in the transfer market too in what promises to be a fine few days for Neil Lennon.
Moritz Bauer and Mohamed Elyounoussi have arrived in recent days, and Kilmarnock left back Greg Taylor is set to follow according to the Record.
Another signing is still wanted, as it’s claimed that Lennon made goalkeeper Fraser Forster and Tottenham misfit Wanyama his top targets, so with Forster signed up, Wanyama is the main man wanted now.
It’s stated that Celtic won’t be able to sign Wanyama permanently given that Spurs have already accepted £13million from Club Brugge for him, but that deal looks to be hitting the rocks.
Spurs are open to loan offers if they can’t sell the Kenyan, and whilst Celtic would need a hefty contribution from Spurs to execute such a deal, they have hope of pulling off a late move.

Celtic have until midnight to finalise the move, and fans will be hoping to see the 28-year-old return to Parkhead today, six years since he left for Southampton.
Wanyama is out of favour at Tottenham with seemingly no chance of a comeback, and reuniting with his former Celtic boss Lennon back at Parkhead could be appealing as he looks to get his career back on track.
