According to the Daily Record, Motherwell defender Declan Gallagher has snubbed a move to Major League Soccer.

It’s claimed that Gallagher received an offer to head over to the United States, with both Portland Timbers and New York Red Bulls keen.

However, Gallagher has just become a dad again and doesn’t want to uproot his family all the way to America right now, meaning he has rejected an offer.

The 30-year-old is a wanted man, with teams in England and Scotland keen to sign him – and that may be more appealing given his family situation.

The Daily Record reported in January that Gallagher actually wants a dream move to Celtic, with the Bhoys interested in signing him this summer.

A one-year extension in Gallagher’s contract has been activated, meaning he can’t move for free this summer, but he may still look to move.

The defender has excelled with Motherwell and even with Scotland on the international stage, meaning the interest in his signature is no great shock.

With MLS clubs rejected, Celtic may hold out real hope that they lead the race for Gallagher and can ultimately lure him to Parkhead this summer.
