Celtic have confirmed the exit of striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo, who heads off to Belgium in order to join KAA Gent on a permanent basis.
Bayo spent last season on loan at French side Toulouse, bagging 13 goals and four assists in 36 appearances before heading back to Celtic.
The Bhoys had no plans for the Ivorian though, and with Toulouse deciding not to sign Bayo permanently, he has been sold on to Gent.
The Scottish Sun now report that Celtic have sold Bayo for £1.4million, taking a £400,000 loss on the player they signed for £1.8million in January 2019.
Bayo had been a goalscoring machine in Slovakia with Dunajska Streda, but only made 17 appearances for Celtic in a disappointing stint at Parkhead.
Brendan Rodgers seemed encouraged by Bayo at first, telling the Daily Record that he felt the striker was a ‘pure goalscorer’ and predicted that he would ‘do very well’ at Celtic.

It just didn’t work out for Bayo though, finding it difficult to break past the likes of Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths and Albian Ajeti in the Celtic pecking order.
Some may argue that Bayo just didn’t get enough of a chance at Celtic, but he now has a chance to shine at Gent and prove Celtic wrong for letting him go.
