Moussa Dembele has been sensational for Celtic, but could he be set to leave the Scottish Premiership after just one season?

A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that Bayern Munich have joined a host of Premier League clubs in the race to sign Celtic star Moussa Dembele this summer.

According to the Mirror, the likes of Chelsea and West Ham have been following the 20-year-old in recent times – the latter also made a bid to bring him to the London Stadium in January – but they could now face competition from one of Europe’s heavyweights.

The Mirror reports that Bayern are considering offering £30 million for the Frenchman, who has enjoyed a stunning first season with the Hoops.

The former Fulham man has scored 27 times in 41 games in all competition for the Bhoys. And his form since the end of the January window, in particular, would suggest that the Bundesliga side may need to offer considerably more if they hope to bag his signature.

The Telegraph reported last month that Celtic wanted £40 million for Dembele, and since then, he has scored seven times in just three games with hat-tricks coming against the likes of St Johnstone and Inverness, so it is difficult to imagine that the Hoops would consider lowering that valuation if the striker continues to find the back of the net so regularly.

However, Bayern may be hoping that the lure of playing for a club of their size – they look set to win their fifth league title in a row and have not missed out on playing in the Champions League since the 2007/08 season – helps tempt Dembele towards the Allianz Arena, perhaps making it easier for a slightly lower offer to be accepted by the Parkhead side.
