Celtic left back Kieran Tierney is reportedly keen on a move to Manchester United.
Celtic’s Kieran Tierney celebrates
According to The Mirror, Celtic defender Kieran Tierney is keen on a move to Manchester United – but the Bhoys may demand more than United’s £10million valuation.
Tierney, 19, has come up through the ranks with Celtic having joined the club at the age of just seven, with his family moving to Scotland from the Isle of Man when Tierney was just ten months old.
The defender has since become Celtic’s first-choice left back, ousting long-serving Emilio Izaguirre from the role last season, and he now has more than 60 first-team appearances to his name.
Already a full Scotland international with three caps to his name, Tierney has been tipped for a huge future – and ultimately, a move to the Premier League.
The Mirror now report that Manchester United are set to step up their interest in signing Tierney this summer, with manager Jose Mourinho allegedly impressed with Tierney’s conduct on and off the pitch.
It’s stated that, with Mourinho losing faith in Luke Shaw, he wants to land a new left back, with Tierney his top target – and the Celtic ace is believed to be keen on a move to Old Trafford, despite the club looking likely to miss out on Champions League football.

However, there could be a disagreement on the fee between the two clubs. Whilst Manchester United allegedly value Tierney at around £10million, Celtic could demand more than that in order to sell him, given that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are also keen.
Having lost the likes of Fraser Forster, Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama to the Premier League in recent years, Celtic won’t want to lose Tierney without a fight this summer – and may actually hope for a bidding war as the Bhoys chase a top price for the teenager.
