According to Gianluca Di Marzio, AC Milan wide man Diego Laxalt is leaving the club today in order to sign for Celtic on loan.
It’s claimed that Laxalt is on his way out of the San Siro, and a move to Celtic is now moving closer and closer to a reality.
The report notes that Celtic’s offer is the ‘most credible one’ and a deal should materialise before the international transfer window slams shut.
The deal will see Laxalt sign on loan for Celtic for the rest of the season, though it’s currently unclear whether a permanent clause will be included.
Laxalt, 27, was once a hot prospect with Defensor Sporting back in his native Uruguay, earning himself a move to Inter Milan at the age of 20.
Since then, he has failed to really settle, turning out for Bologna, Empoli, Genoa, Milan and Torino, with no future for him at the San Siro.

Laxalt has 24 caps for Uruguay, and possesses impressive pace alongside the archetypal Uruguayan work rate, though his defensive work has been inconsistent in Italy.
He can play anywhere up the left flank, meaning he will finally end Neil Lennon’s search for a left-wing back in a rather ambitious move, given that Laxalt cost Milan €18million (£16million) just two years ago.
