According to The Daily Mail, Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic is poised to leave the club for a £4million move to Qatar.
It’s claimed that unnamed Qatari club have stepped forward for talks with Celtic, and an agreement is expected over the next 24 hours.
Rogic has previously suggested that he didn’t want to leave Celtic, but he has yet to make a single appearance so far this season.
The Australian now looks set to move on in search of first-team playing time, bringing his time at Parkhead to a close.
Rogic, 27, joined Celtic from Central Coast Mariners in 2013, and has now racked up almost 200 appearances for Celtic, bagging 38 goals.
Rogic has won five league titles with the Bhoys, and at least makes Celtic a tidy profit; they paid just £395,000 to sign him under Neil Lennon over seven years ago.
Just over four years ago, the Glasgow Evening Times reported that Arsenal wanted to sign Rogic, but it’s Qatar rather than the Premier League for Rogic.
This may mean that Celtic look for another playmaker to compete with Ryan Christie, as Rogic’s exit does leave something of a gap in Lennon’s squad.
