Sunderland look set to beat Celtic to the capture of talent spotter John Park, says a report.

Neil Lennon has failed to bring John Park back to Celtic, according to The Daily Mail.
Celtic are in the market for a new Head of Recruitment after Lee Congerton quit the Hoops on Saturday to meet up with Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City.
Congerton didn’t fare as well in Glasgow as Park, credited with the signings of Virgil van Dijk, Victor Wanyama and Ki Sung-yeung to name a few.
The Daily Mail has reported that Lennon tried to instigate his return to Parkhead, but is set to lose out to Sunderland.
The report adds that he is on the verge of taking up a Director of Football role with Sunderland down South.
Park, who was Head of Football Development with the Bhoys, left the position in October 2016 after being there for nine years.
If true, it demonstrates that Lennon only has Celtic’s best interests at heart. The Northern Irishman doesn’t even know if he’ll be at Paradise beyond this season, having replaced Rodgers on a part-time basis since February, and wanting Park back is a tremendous act of selflessness.
Bhoys fans would’ve rejoiced had Park returned, given the names he is associated with signing, but it looks like a pipe dream if the report is accurate.
