Celtic are allegedly set to sign Manchester City’s Olivier Ntcham.

According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are poised to tie up a deal for Manchester City midfielder Olivier Ntcham – and Brendan Rodgers has confirmed a medical has been completed.

The Bhoys have already snapped up winger Jonny Hayes and young midfielder Kundai Benyu this summer, but they are set for a third addition ahead of their Champions League qualifying campaign.

Rumours this weekend have suggested that Celtic were pursuing a deal for Manchester City youngster Olivier Ntcham, and the Daily Mail now claim that a move is on the verge of completion.

It’s stated that Ntcham has undergone a medical with the Bhoys ahead of a permanent move to Glasgow – and the report also carries quotes from manager Brendan Rodgers confirming that a medical has been completed.

“Yes, we have the player in, going through a medical, all going very well at the moment,” said Rodgers. “So hopefully that shall be announced,” he added.

Ntcham, 21, joined City from the Le Havre academy in 2012, but after five years with the club, he has yet to make his first-team debut with the Etihad Stadium club.

The French midfielder has just spent two years on loan with Italian side Genoa, where he notched three goals in 41 games, but they declined to activate a clause to purchase him.

Celtic have now swooped in to sign Ntcham, striking another deal with Manchester City having recently secured deals for the likes of Jason Denayer, Dedryck Boyata, Patrick Roberts and John Guidetti in recent years.

A strong and technically skilled midfielder, Ntcham could play as a box-to-box player under Rodgers, or further forward where he can cause problems in the final third, whilst he also has potential to become a star under Rodgers’ tutelage.
