According to a report from French outlet Foot Mercato, Celtic are one of the clubs interested in signing Timothy Weah this summer, despite the forward bringing a premature end to his spell at Parkhead.
Weah joined the Hoops on loan from Paris Saint-Germain during the January transfer window. He certainly showed glimpses of his brilliance during his time with the Scottish Premiership champions, but there is definitely a sense that he left with unfinished business.
His inclusion in the United States squad for this summer’s under-20 World Cup meant that he left Celtic ahead of the end of the season. And Neil Lennon may be forgiven for not being entirely happy given that the Bhoys still have a Scottish Cup final to win this term.
But Foot Mercato reports that Celtic are interested in discussing another deal for Weah in the coming months – but it appears that the Hoops will not have a clear run to his signature by any means.
RMC Sport reports that Stade Rennais and Crystal Palace are admirers of the 19-year-old, and Foot Mercato has added that Fortuna Dusseldorf are also in the running.
His stint with Celtic this season must surely boost the Hoops’ hopes of bringing him back to Parkhead. But it certainly appears that he is going to have some exciting options on the table, and it will be interesting to see whether PSG look to offload him permanently or are happy to loan him out again.
