Bournemouth have reportedly been watching Jack Hendry regularly recently, but Celtic are still the favourites to complete a deal.

According to a report from the Dundee Evening Telegraph, Celtic remain the favourites to land Dundee defender Jack Hendry despite Bournemouth joining the race and watching the youngster regularly in recent weeks.

Hendry is arguably one of the most highly sought-after players in the Scottish Premiership right now having enjoyed an excellent season with Neil McCann’s side.

The Dundee Evening Telegraph reports that the Hoops were interested in bringing him to Parkhead as Brendan Rodgers looks to bolster his defensive options during the January transfer window, especially after Erik Sviatchenko’s departure.

However, the Bhoys may have feared what the impact on their chances of completing a deal would have been with the Dundee Evening Telegraph reporting that the Cherries and Crystal Palace are both also keen on the centre-back.

In particular, Bournemouth appear to be very interested in signing Hendry, with the Evening Telegraph suggesting that Eddie Howe has had the 22-year-old scouted regularly in recent times.

But the Evening Telegraph suggests that Celtic remain the favourites to sign Hendry this month, but they may have to pay in excess of £1.5 million to make it happen.

It would undoubtedly prove to be a coup for the Hoops if they did manage to win the race given how interested the Premier League sides appear to be right now.
