Celtic winger Gary Mackay-Steven has only made four appearances for the Glasgow side so far this season.

According to a report in the Scottish Sun, Celtic have received loan offers for Gary Mackay-Steven, but Brendan Rodgers does not want the attacker to leave.

Mackay-Steven has struggled for game time so far this season, after an injury disrupted campaign.

The 26-year-old missed the first five month of the campaign with fitness problems, and since returning to full health he has failed to break into Rodgers’ starting line-up.

Mackay-Steven has played just four times for Celtic in all competitions so far this campaign, and he is yet to score.

However, Rodgers has previously spoken highly of the former Dundee United man and reportedly still believes that he has a future at Parkhead.

As a result, Rodgers is keen to keep Mackay-Steven with the Bhoys, and he has already rejected offers this month.

A host of teams have tried to take Mackay-Steven on a temporary basis, but Celtic are believed to be uninterested in allowing the winger to leave.

Celtic are next in action this weekend, when they return from the winter break with a match against Albion Rovers in the Scottish Cup.
