Celtic have stood firm over Arsenal’s attempts to sign Carl Jenkinson.

According to The Scottish Sun, Arsenal have offered Celtic a shot at one of four players in a deal for Kieran Tierney, but they’ve been unsuccessful – so far at least.
Tierney is a man in demand this summer, with Premier League clubs hoping to prise him away from Parkhead having become one of the top young left backs in Europe.
Arsenal are now pushing hard to sign Tierney, and have failed with a £15million move for the 22-year-old, with their swap offers seemingly not working either.
It’s claimed that Arsenal had even offered Celtic a chance to sign one of Carl Jenkinson, Jordi Osei-Tutu, Emile Smith Rowe or Eddie Nketiah, and whilst they haven’t accepted yet, it’s thought that Celtic would take a right back or striker if they money increases.
The offers would seemingly be on loan rather than permanently, which is why Celtic are keen to drive up the fee involved, given that any loan player would be gone in a year.
Celtic undoubtedly need a right back given that both Mikael Lustig and Cristian Gamboa are leaving at the end of the mont, and it’s a real problem position for Neil Lennon.

Jenkinson, 27, makes the most sense given his experience, as he could come in and play immediately, with Osei-Tutu more of an option for the future
Smith Rowe is a playmaker or winger, meaning he may be out of the mix if David Turnbull signs, but Nketiah – a talented young striker looking for playing time – may fit the bill.
Celtic may have rejected Arsenal’s offers so far, but it seems that they could succeed with a similar offer soon, they just need to ramp up the money involved to tempt Celtic.
