Dundee United reportedly want to re-sign Celtic striker Nadir Ciftci.
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic striker Nadir Ciftci could return to Dundee United, after the Scottish Championship side expressed an interest in re-signing him.
Former Bhoys manager Ronny Deila swooped to land Ciftci, 24, in the summer of 2015 after he had starred in two seasons with Dundee United.

The former Portsmouth youngster hit 33 goals in 82 games for the Terrors, proving to be a menace against Celtic along with Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong, who would also join the Bhoys in 2015.
After a protracted transfer saga, Ciftci did make his move to Celtic in the summer of 2015, but struggled to make an impact last season, scoring just four times in 22 games before being sent out on loan to Turkish side Eskisehirspor for the second half of last season.

The Turkish attacker returned to Celtic over the summer, but his fortunes haven’t changed under Brendan Rodgers, as he’s played just two competitive games this season – and both came in Champions League qualifiers and Lincoln Red Imps back in July.
Ciftci’s days at Celtic are numbered, and The Scottish Sun report that a return to Dundee United could be on the cards, as Ray McKinnon’s side – who sit level on points with Hibernian at the top of the Scottish Championship – want to bring him back to Tannadice.
It’s stated that United want to take Ciftci on loan to aid their push for promotion back to the Scottish Premiership, but there could be a problem in the deal, as Celtic would prefer to get him off the wage bill permanently, rather than sending him out on loan.
Ciftci’s contract with Celtic runs until the summer of 2019, meaning it’s no surprise that the Bhoys want to get him off the books – but whether United would be able to afford to buy him in January remains to be seen.
