Celtic defender Efe Ambrose has reportedly agreed terms elsewhere with his contract at Parkhead coming to an end.
Celtic’s Efe Ambrose is closing in on a move elsewhere
Celtic defender Efe Ambrose is reportedly set to complete a move to Hibernian this summer and help Neil Lennon’s men as they look to re-establish themselves in the Scottish Premiership, according to Sky Sports.
Ambrose always looked to be on his way out of Parkhead this summer with his contract set to expire, Sky Sports reports, but there appeared to be plenty of interest in the 28-year-old.
The Scottish Sun recently suggested that Newcastle United were considering a surprise move for the Nigerian as they prepare for their return to the Premier League, while Hoops teammate Jozo Simunovic was also on their radar.
However, it appears that Ambrose will be remaining in Scotland next season with Sky Sports reporting that he has agreed a short-term deal with the Easter Road outfit following his loan spell with the club during the latter half of this season.
Ambrose’s form with Celtic before his loan switch was disappointing
The 28-year-old has only suffered one league defeat since joining Hibs in February, and he will be hoping that he can help them enjoy something like that level of success once they make their return to the top flight in the coming months.
Unfortunately however, his occasional mistakes while representing Celtic are likely to mean that, if the deal does go through, the Hoops supporters will not be too concerned about Ambrose coming back to haunt them in future.
