Celtic are reportedly in talks with Bolton Wanderers’ administrators about the midfielder, who is wanted by a number of Premier League sides.

According to a report from The Scottish Sun, Celtic are the only side to make a bid to sign Luca Connell so far, with the Hoops opening talks with Bolton’s administrators over a potential Parkhead switch.
Connell appears to be one of the most highly sought-after prospects this summer, with The Scottish Sun noting that Premier League trio Wolves, Norwich City and Sheffield United want the 18-year-old, while Southampton and Brighton had offers turned down in January.
But The Scottish Sun suggests that Celtic are leading the race as they are the only team to actually make contact with Bolton’s administrators to discuss the structure of a potential deal.
The report notes that Connell can leave for training compensation, but the Bhoys are discussing a fee with the Trotters, who were relegated out of the Championship this past season.

Smart move from Celtic?
It appears that Celtic have every chance of signing Connell in what appears to have the potential to be a fantastic piece of business. The youngster is already threatening to be an important first-team player with Bolton, and recently received his first call-up to the Republic of Ireland senior squad.
It will be interesting to see whether the Hoops’ progress tempts any of his other admirers to make their own move before his switch to Parkhead is confirmed. And if they do look to throw a spanner in the works, it will be intriguing to find out what move Connell opts for.
