According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are eyeing a move to lure Manchester City’s Fergal Harkin to Parkhead.
It’s suggested that Celtic are looking for a new director football, and decision-makers inside Parkhead are discussing a move for Harkin.
Dominic McKay will become Celtic’s new chief executive with Nicky Hammond leading recruitment, meaning Harkin would seemingly be a middle-man between them.
Harkin currently serves as the Football Partnerships and Pathways Manager at City, overseeing the club’s youth development.
The Irishman helps young players go out on loan and earn game time elsewhere, with Celtic now seemingly impressed with his work.
Harkin’s knowledge of City youngsters seems to be appealing to Celtic, and it’s no great surprise given that the two clubs have enjoyed a strong relationship in recent memory.
The likes of Jason Denayer, John Guidetti, Patrick Roberts, Dedryck Boyata, Olivier Ntcham and Jeremie Frimpong have all moved from City to Celtic in some capacity.
Landing Harkin could help Celtic land more City youngsters in the future, and he appears to be a frontrunner to help lead the next Bhoys regime.
