According to the Glasgow Evening Times, Celtic are in the hunt for the signing of a centre-back.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has had to change his transfer plans following an injury to Filip Benkovic, which is due to keep him out for weeks.

Rodgers had been loathed to bring in another defender, as he felt that they simply wouldn’t play at Parkhead, as he told the Daily Mail.

However, Celtic’s numbers at the back now look short, and Rodgers is looking on the market for a centre-back again.

The decision to sign a central defender represents a late u-turn from Rodgers, and Celtic are now under pressure to get a deal done quickly.
