Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic are edging closer to signing Marco Tilio from Melbourne City.

According to The Daily Record, Celtic are interested in signing Marco Tilio from Melbourne City in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have agreed a fee with the A-League club over a transfer fee.

There are now two issues left for the transfer to be completed.

First of all, Tilio himself has to agree personal terms with Celtic.

And then the 21-year-old forward will have to pass a medical test with the Hoops, who won the Scottish Premiership, the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup last season.

Exciting Marco Tilio update for Celtic fans

In our view, that Celtic have already agreed a fee over signing Marco Tilio from Melbourne City is very encouraging and exciting for the fans.

We do not think that the Hoops would have any problem in convincing the Australia international forward from making the move to Celtic Park.

After all, leaving Melbourne City for Celtic would be a huge step-up for the forward.

Celtic will be aiming to win the domestic treble again this season and will also compete in the UEFA Champions League.

Tilio would relish that.

The forward has won the A-League Premiership title thrice with City and the A-League Premiership title once with Sydney FC.
