The Bhoys have reportedly told Galatasaray to up their offer for Stefan Johansen.
Celtic’s Stefan Johansen in action against Rangers
Celtic have told Galatasaray to cough up £1.5 million for contract rebel Stefan Johansen, the Scotsman reports.
Turkish media reported on Tuesday that Gala had agreed terms with Johansen, but it appears the two clubs are still to settle on a fee.
The Super Lig side are said to have offered £1.1 million for the midfielder, who is in the final year of his Parkhead deal and has turned down the club’s offer of an extension.
However, the Scotsman reports that Celtic are looking to recoup most of the £2 million they paid for him in 2014 and have demanded an extra £400,000.
Former Bhoys boss Ronny Deila brought his compatriot to Glasgow upon his own arrival
It is claimed that Johansen, who was named PFA Scotland Player of the Year in 2015, remains with the Bhoys at their pre-season training camp in Slovenia.
However, Gala expect him to arrive in Istanbul later this week to finalise the deal, according to Turkish media reports.
Despite a bright start, Johansen’s second-season displays fell well short of expectations, and many Celtic fans would be happy to see the back of him it seems.

New Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers has been busy clearing the decks following his June arrival, showing the door to Anthony Stokes, Colin Kazim-Richards, Carlton Cole and Stefan Scepovic so far.
