Celtic reportedly consider Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham as Moussa Dembele replacement but must act fast with Aston Villa closing in.

Moussa Dembele of Celtic is seen during the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Hamilton Academical at Celtic Park Stadium on August 25, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The future of Moussa Dembele as a Celtic player remains uncertain as the transfer window quickly draws to a close on deadline day.

As the Independent reports, the Scottish champions have rejected a “significant” offer for Dembele and manager Brendan Rodgers expects the striker to stay.

Yet the 22-year-old wants to leave and is keen to join Olympique Lyonnais, having already agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 club.

No fee has been agreed as yet but the Bhoys are preparing for a life without Dembele and are even considering a move for Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham as a replacement.

Need to act fast

The problem for the Hoops is that if they do view Abraham as a viable alternative then they must move quickly to sign him with the Sun reporting the Blues youngster is set to join Aston Villa on loan.

With Rodgers’ side having qualified for the Europa League group stage they could well be a more appealing option for the 20-year-old rather than dropping back into the Championship after a year on loan in the Premier League with Swansea City in 2017/18.
