According to Index in Croatia, Celtic are interested in raiding Hajduk Split for left back David Colina – but need to double their planned offer.

It’s claimed that there hasn’t been an official offer just yet, but Celtic did put forward the idea of €3million (£2.7million) during talks with Hajduk.

Hajduk won’t sell for that price though, and want double Celtic’s money, with a €6million (£5.4million) price tag on Colina.

Hajduk only paid €700,000 (£630,000) to sign Colina from Monaco last summer so are seeking a huge profit on him.

Colina, 20, was in the Dinamo Zagreb ranks but left for his brief spell at Monaco in 2018, and has been a regular for Croatia at youth level over the last five years.

Colina made 22 league appearances this season, registering just the one assist from left back – and Celtic signing him would raise questions about Boli Bolingoli.

The Belgian hasn’t impressed since joining Celtic last summer, and Greg Taylor showed his quality on Sunday with two assists against Hamilton Academical.

Signing Colina would give Neil Lennon another left back, and possibly push Bolingoli towards the exit door – but Celtic need to double their offer first.
