It looks like Celtic have moved on from the Fraser Forster disappointment.

Earlier this week, The Scottish Sun reported that Forster had done a u-turn on returning to Celtic and is now staying at Southampton.

The 32-year-old played a massive role in helping the Hoops to a ninth-successive Premiership title this past season.

But he won’t be back for 10-in-a-row and Neil Lennon is working on alternative targets, it seems.

According to The Daily Mail, the Parkhead club made an enquiry about signing Vasilios Barkas only this week.

The report adds that the AEK Athens star is valued at £5 million, while Joe Hart and David Marshall are also possible options.

If Celtic like the look of Barkas, they might as well go ahead and buy him.

Forster would’ve only been returning on loan, but Lennon needs some long-term stability between the sticks and obviously a permanent deal offers more of that than temporary additions.

A lot of Bhoys fans would love the Southampton star back, but 12 months from now Celtic are in the same position again, so perhaps Barkas is the best long-term option, if Lennon deems him good enough.
