The youngster picked up a hamstring injury during Ajax Cape Town’s 1-1 draw with Golden Arrows in the Absa Premiership at the weekend.

Despite Coetzee suffering an injury, Celtic want to secure his services before the end of the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Record.

Coetzee is a talented and promising young defender who would be a good addition to the current Celtic squad.

There have been injury problems for the Hoops defensively this season, and the youngster would help in providing cover for that for the next few weeks or so.

Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic have made a strong start to the season and are on the verge of progressing to the group stage of the Champions League for the second season in a row.
