Brendan Rodgers has expressed a desire to bring in added quality at Celtic in the summer transfer window.

According to a report in the Daily Record, Celtic are interested in signing Giovanni Troupee from FC Utrecht in the summer transfer window.

Celtic have had scouts stationed out on Holland, who have been impressed by Troupee’s performances this season.

The right-back has been a mainstay in Utrecth’s first-team, despite his tender years and has racked up 33 appearances across all competitions.

Troupee is noted for his attacking ability, and has managed to claim four goals and four assists throughout the campaign to date.

The youngster has attracted the attentions of a number of clubs, but Celtic are confident about coming out on top in the battle to sign the defender.

Troupee is said to be valued at around £1.75 million, which is well within Celtic’s price bracket.

If Troupee was brought to Parkhead he would likely be viewed as Brendan Rodgers’ future first-choice right-back.

At the moment Celtic have Cristian Gamboa and Mikael Lustig, who compete for a place on the right hand side of their defence.
