The Birmingham City youngster is said to be interesting Manchester City as well as Celtic/

Celtic are lining up a deal for the young Birmingham City centre-back Mitchell Roberts, according to The Sun. The newspaper claims that Roberts is also wanted by Manchester City, but with the transfer deadline having passed for Premier League clubs, Celtic are said to ‘have the edge’ on Pep Guardiola’s side.
Despite that, the 18-year-old could still sign for City at any time, although he wouldn’t be eligible for first-team matches until the window reopens in January.
Roberts signed a one-year professional contract earlier this summer, but is ‘expected to be sold for the right price’, according to The Sun.
Celtic currently employ five senior centre-backs, although one of those, Jack Hendry, continues to be linked with moves away from Parkhead after falling out of favour.
And with interest too in Jozo Simunovic and Kristoffer Ajer of late, Roberts could prove a shrewd addition with one eye on the future.

Birmingham’s official website states that Roberts considers technical ability and composure as his primary strengths, and looks up to the Manchester City and England centre-back John Stones.
Would Celtic be a better move than Manchester City for the Birmingham youngster?
