Celtic are reportedly leading the race for Ipswich Town’s Dylan Crowe.
According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are now leading the race to sign Ipswich Town talent Dylan Crowe, ahead of both Huddersfield Town and RB Leipzig.
The Bhoys need to sort out their right back situation this summer, with veterans Mikael Lustig and Cristian Gamboa set to become free agents this month.
Celtic look to be moving for a proven right back in Sheffield United’s George Baldock (Daily Mail), but a young talent to develop for the future is also on the radar.
The Daily Mail now claim that Celtic are looking to secure the signature of Ipswich youngster Crowe, even leading the race ahead of Huddersfield Town and RB Leipzig.
Crowe, 18, is coming up through the Ipswich ranks, and Huddersfield have already had a bid of £300,000 rejected ahead of his contract expiring this summer.
Celtic would be required to pay minimal compensation for the teenager thanks to cross-border contract rules, and they hope that the lure of a clear pathway to first-team football will land them Crowe’s signature in a bargain deal.
Ipswich are no strangers to losing a young talent to Celtic having seen Kundai Benyu join the Bhoys in 2017, but Crowe will be hoping his Parkhead career ends up better than Benyu’s – if he does indeed make the move to Glasgow.
An England Under-18 international, Crowe looks to have a huge future, and landing both Baldock and Crowe would overhaul the right back spot with an immediate solution and a future star – possibly the ideal mix.
