Celtic have entered the race to sign Nottingham Forest ace Henri Lansbury.

Celtic have entered the race to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury, according to the Nottingham Post.

Lansbury is in demand with clubs in both the English Premier League and Championship showing an interest in signing him.

The central midfielder won the Championship player of the month award for November but his Forest side are struggling for form at present, just two points above the relegation zone.

In recent seasons Forest have struggled to hold on to their best players, with Michail Antonio and Oliver Burke being snapped up.

The Nottingham Post report that Lansbury is expected to be keen on a switch to Celtic if an offer materialises, tempted by the opportunity to play European football next season.

Lansbury is a former England under-21 regular who made his name in Arsenal’s academy.

The 26-year-old has been at Forest since 2012 and few fans could begrudge him walking away considering the team’s lack of direction at present.

He is out of contract in the summer and Celtic have an opportunity to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with him, while Forest could be swayed into accepting an offer and getting some cash for him now.
