Celtic are reportedly keen on signing Liverpool’s defender Joe Gomez.

Joe Gomez joined Liverpool in 2015, but a serious injury has prevented him from making an impact for the senior team.
Now fit, the highly talented youngster faces a massive task of impressing his manager, Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool’s pursuit of Virgil van Dijk suggests that the Reds are keen to sign a top quality centre-back this summer. Moreover, they are willing to dish out any and all necessary measures to get the right kind of player.
With the Reds already having the likes of Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren on their books, another new centre-back will only hamper Gomez’s chances of playing regularly.

According to reports from The Sun, Celtic are keen to sign the 20-year-old defender, who was signed by Brendan Rodgers during his time at Merseyside.
It is unclear whether Celtic want him permanently or on a loan. However, if they are planning to sign him on a permanent deal the Bhoys will have to dish out around £10 million for him.

That’s the price AFC Bournemouth are reportedly willing to pay; so it is natural Celtic will have to offer something similar. The Premier League newcomers Brighton are also interested.
Gomez has a contract at the club till 2022, and hence Liverpool will probably look to send him on loan. In that case, Klopp could trust the Rodgers to take care of the talented youngster and make him a better player.
