Celtic and Leeds United are among the British clubs being credited with an interest in Benfica centre-back Branimir Kalaica.
The Daily Mail reports that Celtic, Leeds and Watford are all keen on Kalaica, who finds himself well down the pecking order in Lisbon.
The 22-year-old arrived at Benfica in 2016 from Dinamo Zagreb, but has appeared just once for the Eagles’ first-team – despite having marked his debut with a goal against Boavista.
Kalaica has continued to feature for Benfica’s second string, but could find senior opportunities increasingly hard to come by, with Robin Koch – the Freiburg centre-back who, according to Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta, the Whites have watched – being strongly linked with a move to the Estadio da Luz.

Kalaica has been capped nine times by Croatia’s Under-21 side, whom he represented alongside former Celtic loan star Filip Benkovic at last summer’s European U21 Championship.
The 6’3″ player has two years left on his Benfica contract, but ‘a move to England’ could tempt him, according to The Daily Mail.
